The same shot at f22 above and f2.8 below.  A close up of a double daffodil – Narcissus, ‘Dick Wilden’.  Any preference?

‘Narcissus – Dick Wilden’ or ‘Close Up of a Daffodil’

This double flowering daffodil presented me with a slight problem in close up.  I wanted to use available natural light so placed the flower by a window.  The tricky bit was getting the angled light to penetrate the whole bloom.  Taken with a macro lens – this image is about 12% of full size when you click it.  Hopefully spring is now on the way and we can look forward to more flowers.

Tulip Pollen

Close Up of the inside of a tulip flower, some of the pollen has come off the stamen and attached to the petal.  Photographed using my 60mm macro lens.  This is cropped a bit to exclude the edges of the petal.

So much pollen left on this flower as it is too cold for any pollinators, especially bees to be flying around.
